TV starlet and Queen of the Jungle, Scarlett Moffatt has reacted to her family being axed. Moffatt, best known for her witty charm on Channel 4’s sofa sensation show has said she and the family are “gutted”. It was announced this month that her parents Mark and Betty along with new addition, little sister Ava have been axed from the show.
Scarlett had left to focus on her presenting career but hoped she could join her family now and again. After unsurprisingly winning I’m a Celebrity, get me out of here back in December, the rising star has bagged many gigs. She has even gained herself a regular slot on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. However, since Scarlett is now a celebrity in her own right, the show’s bosses have decided there is no longer room for the Moffatts. Producers of the hit show stated that “it just wouldn’t work without all three of them.”
She took to Twitter to express her family’s sadness. Scarlett replied to one “gutted :(” fan by saying: “
@DanixRx we are gutted to, thought my Mam and Dad (and little Ava) would still be able to do it but we will still be watching #gogglebox.”
Of course, it is not the first time a family has been axed due to a member’s new venture. The Michael family were temporarily axed due to Dad – Andrew running for UKIP! Also Linda, George and Pete after George entered Celebrity Big Brother. The reasons were due to the show wanting to focus on ‘ordinary’ families. Although, the others were brought back, so there’s hope for the Moffatts in the future?
But for now, it’s a goodbye and good luck to them, they will be missed by many!
